Research Experience for High School Students (REHS)
June – August
The San Diego Supercomputer Center, on the UC San Diego campus, offers an exciting volunteer internship program, the Research Experience for High School Students (REHS). Selected student applicants are paired with their chosen SDSC mentor and work as part of a research team dedicated to a particular area of scientific research.
Mentor Assistance Program (MAP)
October – May
The UC San Diego’s Mentor Assistance Program (MAP) is a campus-wide program, engaging high school students in a mentoring relationship with a faculty researcher from a vast array of disciplines, consisting of History, Physics, Nanoengineering, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Computer Science.
UCSD Outreach Ambassador Program (OAP)
Ongoing
The UCSD Outreach Ambassador Program (OAP) gives high school students the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the marketing, promotion and dissemination of UCSD STEM program information. Students will meet monthly with UCSD program coordinators, educational representatives and business professionals to discuss strategies for successful promotion and publicity planning. Students will have the opportunity to share ideas about marketing, publicity and program promotion for a variety of UCSD outreach programs for middle and high school students.
