Information Technology Engineering and Environmental Education Tools (IT-E3Tools)

About the project:
The SDSC Education is hosting a data portal for teachers participating in the Information Technology Engineering and Environmental Education Tools (IT-E3Tools) project. Teachers and students will begin collecting data from regional water sources in early 2008 using a variety of sensors including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and nitrates. Learn more at:

TeraGrid EOT

About the project:
The SDSC Education Group has obtained an allocation on the TeraGrid and plans to perform a demonstration computational science task with the intent of exploring and evaluating the TeraGrid interface from a real user's perspective.

 

SDSC User Support

About the project:
The SDSC Education Group has helped establish an online asynchronous training portal that incorporates user-friendly video tutorials on a growing list of SDSC resources. Learn more at:

TeacherTECH

About the program:
TeacherTECH is an award-winning program coordinated by Ange Mason of the SDSC Education Group. TeacherTECH is in its eighth year and has provided workshops and seminars and online instructional resources for hundreds of teachers throughout the country. Learn more at:

The Discover Data Education Portal

About the project:
The mission of the Discover Data portal is to provide a way for K-12 teachers and undergraduate professors to incorporate scientific data into their curricula. Our process is to select data from existing online freely available scientific data archives, some of which may be a challenge for students to use without assistance, and build a series of lessons around them designed to guide K-12 and undergraduate students through beginning, intermediate, and advanced scientific tools.
